The Fargo Landmark Archive
Some places should be saved before they're gone.
We're preserving Fargo-Moorhead's most meaningful buildings in immersive 3D — a permanent, walkable record of the places that make this community what it is, especially the ones at risk of being renovated or lost. Know one? Nominate it below.
Nominate a placeWhy it matters
Buildings disappear. The memory doesn't have to.
Renovations, sales, and demolitions quietly erase the spaces a community grew up in. A professional 3D scan freezes a place exactly as it is — so anyone can step back inside it years from now. It's also a gift of access: people who can't visit in person can still explore.

One place, every month
1. Nominate a place
Anyone can nominate a Fargo-Moorhead building or space worth preserving — especially ones at risk of demolition or renovation.
2. We scan one a month
We select one nominated place each month and capture it in immersive 3D at no cost to the owner — a permanent digital record.
3. The community explores it
The scan becomes a shareable 3D experience anyone can walk through — a lasting archive of places that make this area home.
What a feature includes
Free to preserve — clear about the rest
A selected feature is documented at no cost. If an owner later wants the full commercial deliverables, those are a normal paid project — kept separate so the preservation stays a genuine gift.
Included free
- A professional Matterport Pro2 scan of the interior (about 1–3 hours on-site)
- A fully interactive 3D walkthrough, hosted free for its first 6 months
- A short vertical reveal clip to share on social
- A set of still images pulled from the scan
- A permanent story page in the archive — kept forever, even after the tour rests
- A shareable link (and embed code while it's live)
Available as a paid project
- Permanent hosting of the full interactive tour
- Schematic floor plans and measurements
- Website embed and branded links
- MatterPak / technical deliverables on request
The story, reveal, and images stay free forever. The interactive walkthrough is live free for 6 months, then a sponsor keeps it alive. See how the archive stays alive.
